Thai Memories.
I went to a handful of Job 2 Do shows when I lived in Phuket. This was one of his more popular songs. It NEVER got old. His shows were almost always on the beach.

Alice in Wonderland
No, not the movie. Alice Walker. She is coming to GSU next week. I thought about her every time I drove through Eatonton, Ga. on my way to Milledgeville.

Romeo & Juliet
I debated today with a friend about the author(s) of the song Romeo & Juliet. The first time I heard this song was at a live performance with Amy Ray from the Indigo Girls. I was 15 at the time. I remember devouring the lyrics and becoming totally hypnotized by a woman singing about being a "love struck Romeo". I'm pretty sure my curiosity with gender roles, masculinity/femininity piqued around this time. We blasted this song in our bedrooms on Friday nights in with teenage abandon. Sober too. Weird. I still feel moved by it and obviously so did Brandon Flowers from The Killers, cause he recorded the track on a B-Side collection album some time in 2007.
To end with this little snippet, the debate was over whether Bob Dylan wrote the song or Dire Straits. It was Dire Straits.

I miss you, Jodi.
That's all for now.
